Promoting spiritual growth and community engagement
Subud Britain was established to help members experience the benefits of the Subud spiritual practice. To this end, the organization maintains a number of venues providing spaces where members meet to take part in the practice. It also organizes regular gatherings centered on spirituality and occasional special events, some of which are open to family, friends, and the wider community.
Alongside its practical role, the organization also offers spiritual support and guidance to its members through a network of dedicated experienced practitioners, referred to as helpers.. These helpers also act as a bridge to the community, reaching out to anyone interested in finding out more about Subud.

Volunteer led with democratic decision making
Subud Britain comprises mostly autonomous local groups, each with its own committee working closely with members in managing the group. The charity also has a national chair, a Board of Trustees and an executive committee providing leadership and governance nationally. These roles are largely voluntary, but the organization draws upon professional support when needed.
Members’ views are conveyed at the national level via a network of group and regional representatives. Decision making at all levels is on a consensus basis. However, there are inevitably issues where opinions differ. At these times we turn to our spiritual practice to guide us toward harmony and agreement.
